Dschingis Dragon
We couldn’t be more excited about our latest purchase from France. A filly with a Group 1 pedigree, size and scope, strong form in the book and the prospect of considerable improvement to come when sent hurdling.
An exceptionally well-bred filly, this four year old is a three-parts sister to three fillies; Group 1 Prix Saint-Alary third Es La Vida, Listed winner and Group 3 runner-up Emoji, and Emirates, a winner on the flat, over hurdles and fences, and fourth in Listed company around Auteuil.
The only other sibling is the unraced dam of Dschingis Love (also by Dschingis Secret), a four year old that has already won twice over hurdles and placed in Listed and Group 3 level around Auteuil. In short, it is an exceptional page!
Dschingis Dragon finished runner-up on her first two starts, in highly-competitive 1m4f maidens in the summer, including behind a Group 3 performer. She was subsequently given an early-closing entry in the Group 2 Prix Chaudenay at the Arc meeting, but her form plateaued during what was a very difficult spell for the yard.
She won at Lyon last month on her second start on the All-Weather, despite it clearly not being her ideal track or the race run to suit. From watching her races she is undoubtedly a stayer, a view supported by strong information from the yard. Always very well-regarded, it is surprising she hasn’t been stepped up in trip before now.
Standing at over 16’1, she has the size and scope of a jumper, but is an athletic filly with flat class and an outstanding, dual-purpose pedigree.
THE PLAN
Dschingis Secret arrived over from France three weeks ago and has settled in perfectly. She is already in ridden exercise and we’ll keep her ticking over, with a view to starting out in the late spring.
We want to keep her as a novice for the 2025/26 campaign, but will look to win a maiden hurdle in May before heading to some nice races later in the summer/autumn, with Galway firmly on the radar for her.
We are very hopeful that she can develop into a black-type mare over hurdles in the year ahead and we are absolutely delighted to have her on the team.

Henry de Bromhead
Having started training at the turn of the millennium, Henry rapidly established himself as a leading force in the National Hunt ranks in Ireland and two decades on, the list of races that have gone the way of the County Waterford-based handler is hugely impressive.
A record-breaking Cheltenham Festival, during which Henry had six winners that included the Champion Hurdle, Champion Chase and Gold Cup, was swiftly followed by a famous 1-2 in the Grand National, providing further evidence of a yard that continues at the very top of its game.
Henry has already trained many winners for us in the Pimlico Racing silks and we are delighted to have five horses in training (Becasse, Chutzpal, Dschingis Dragon, Innatendue and Zurich) with Henry for 2025.
