Looking forward to a busy March!

 In Pimlico Racing Blog

We look set for a busy month ahead on the racecourse and it’s an exciting time for all involved with Pimlico Racing.

Amina, who was last seen finishing third on her bumper debut at the Galway Festival, is due to reappear in a bumper for trainer John McConnell and she is working very well ahead of her return to action.  She’s a mare that we like a lot and we are hopeful that she can go on to run at the Punchestown Festival later in the spring.

I Am Mimi was last seen finishing third to a subsequent Listed-winning hurdler and he will be looking to shed his maiden tag over hurdles this month for Gavin Cromwell, whose team have been in outstanding form this season.  The six year old has done well physically for his winter break and looks a bright prospect for the year ahead.

Innatendue will have her first run for Henry de Bromhead at Gowran Park next weekend and hopefully she can return to the form that saw her finish a close second at Cheltenham on her first start for us last season.

Stardhem got off the mark over fences with a battling success at Huntingdon and he will be out again in the coming fortnight in his bid to follow up that win, with a 2lbs rise from the handicapper unlikely to prevent him from going close.  Ben Pauling feels there is plenty more to come from him and he looks the type that can gradually climb through the grades.

Zurich has looked a smart prospect in his three runs for us so far and the lightly-raced son of Doctor Dino is being targeted at a valuable Listed novice handicap chase at Navan on Saturday 22nd March.  The €60,000 contest will tell us whether he has the stamina for three miles and will determine his programme going forward, but he does look on a very good mark and we’re all looking forward to seeing him on the track again.

Our beautiful Havana Grey two year old has been named River Trieux (pictured) and she has been impressing on the gallops at Paddy Twomey’s.  She looks an early type and should be on the racecourse later this spring, while last year’s triple winner Chutzpal, debut bumper third Collanisi, new recruit Dschingis Dragon, and unraced bumper prospect North Moon will all be returning to their respective trainers this month after a spell in pre-training.
