Mimi off the mark at Ballinrobe

 In Pimlico Racing Blog

I Am Mimi returned from a break with a fine performance to shed his maiden tag on his handicap debut at Ballinrobe on Tuesday.

The six year old had finished third to a subsequent dual Listed winner on his final start of 2024, and looked to have strengthened up nicely over the winter.

He travelled strongly, jumped well under Keith Donoghue and it was very pleasing to see him really knuckle down when coming under pressure to get the better of the runner-up, who had been in good form on the flat of late.

Mimi has considerable scope to progress this season and the 8lbs rise looks manageable, given he remains lightly-raced over hurdles so far.

Congratulations to our syndicate owners, and to all involved in the Flooring Porter Partnership with whom we share Mimi!  We’re already looking forward to his next run and hopefully he could be another of the team to take us to Galway this summer.
