Promising Dschingis Dragon off the mark at Gowran Park
A good third on her previous outing at Cork, which came after a first-flight tumble on hurdling debut, we had been waiting since for soft ground for Dschingis Dragon and she rewarded the patient approach with a taking success at Gowran Park yesterday.
Prominent throughout under Darragh O’Keeffe, she jumped fluently in the main, though she was hampered five out and made a little error at the third-last. However, she was sent on before the second-last and kept on well to score, still just looking a little green when alone in front.
There should be plenty more to come from the four year old, who is a well-related filly with some smart form on the flat in her native France. We’ll see what the handicapper does before making a plan, but it’s likely she will go for a rated novice next and we’ll take things from there.
She looks very promising and congratulations to all involved in the syndicate!
