Something Fabulous impresses at Tramore
Our syndicate members celebrated an exciting victory yesterday as Something Fabulous stormed to success at Tramore on just her second start under rules. The beautifully bred mare, trained by John McConnell, showed exactly why she is held in high regard by her trainer, quickening smartly and showing a great attitude on the run to the line.
Something Fabulous first caught the eye in May when finishing runner-up in a competitive Irish point-to-point. Making her debut in the Pimlico Racing colours at the Galway Festival, she was unlucky in running, but shaped like a smart prospect. At Tramore yesterday, everything clicked and she won with a bit to spare under amateur Finn Buckley.
Plans are already being mapped out for her next run, with a Listed contest in Ireland under consideration before a potential tilt at Cheltenham in November. Bred to be classy, Something Fabulous is out of a sister to Graded performers Waiting Patiently and McFabulous, giving her the pedigree to match her racecourse potential. She represents another quality addition to Pimlico Racing’s growing team and it would be lovely to see her challenge for black type this autumn.
