Stardhem scores at Huntingdon

 In Pimlico Racing Blog

A fantastic result yesterday, with Stardhem getting off the mark on his first start over fences.

A little careful over the first few, he really warmed to the task in the jumping department, but still looked likely to be in the minor placings once again when under pressure on the turn for home.  However, he kept on resolutely under an excellent ride from Ben Jones to hit the front in the run to the line.

Having won by a neck and 2.25L, he should be getting a maximum of 4lbs for the win and there is still plenty of margin for progress in this grade.

Congratulations to his group of owners, several of whom were at Huntingdon yesterday to cheer Stardhem on.  We look forward to seeing him out again next month and I’m sure there is further success to come in the months ahead.
