Alicious makes impressive winning debut for Willie Mullins

We were delighted to see last year’s Tattersalls July Sale purchase Alicious make a winning debut at Wexford yesterday for Willie Mullins!

We’ve always had a soft spot for the progeny of the late Pastorius and this four year old is from a fine French family, being a half-sister to black-type jumper Magic Flight, and out of a black-type performer in Larabelle – there’s even Listed/Graded performers in the third and fourth dam, so it is a pedigree with plenty of depth.

Alicious has always looked a very nice filly in the making at home, so much so that we went out and purchased her half-brother as a yearling last November – there are still a few shares available in Julius and we couldn’t recommend him highly enough!

Sent out in front by Patrick Mullins, Alicious raced enthusiastically and put the race to bed with a sharp turn of foot at the top of the home straight. Patrick was very complimentary about her afterwards and though plans are fluid, it may be that we give her a shot at some black type of her own in a Listed bumper next time.

Nathaniel Barnett has been a leading syndicate and racing club manager since 2008, with over 200 winners in that time, as well as an established, successful bloodstock agent. Nathaniel has a wealth of experience in the industry, having worked as a form advisor for Andrew Balding, as researcher for racing presenter Clare Balding and as assistant trainer to Tim Vaughan, prior to setting up as a bloodstock agent in 2013. As well as Pimlico Racing, Nathaniel also runs the Kingsclere Racing Club for the Balding family and is racing manager in France for Sangwin Bloodstock.
