I AM MIMI was a £155,000 store purchase, by triple Gold Cup-winning trainer Henrietta Knight. Gavin Cromwell had the opportunity to buy the horse privately and I Am Mimi went on to make a hugely encouraging debut in a Punchestown bumper in November 2023, finding only a €200,000 pointer with previous rules experience too good on the day.
The winner that day, who was receiving 5lbs from I Am Mimi, has since gone on to win the Listed Future Champions Bumper at Navan, a race with an incredibly rich history of talented winners, including the likes of American Mike, Sir Gerhard, Envoi Allen, Samcro and Death Duty.
Gavin feels there is any amount of improvement in I Am Mimi and has some big plans for him in the future. Though he is by some way the most expensive horse we have purchased to date, we really do feel we have got a bargain given his profile and we couldn’t be more excited to get the Pimlico Racing Flooring Porter Syndicate started with such a high-class individual.
