Zurich receives multiple Cheltenham Festival entries
Our exciting chaser Zurich has been given three entries for next month’s Cheltenham Festival.
The Henry de Bromhead-trained seven year old, a winner at Cheltenham’s October meeting, was given a little break following his subsequent third at Doncaster in December, the form of which has worked out very well.
The plan since then has been to head straight to Cheltenham and a 3lbs rise for his latest effort at Doncaster should give him a strong chance of getting a run, particularly as he holds entries in the Plate (Tuesday), Grand Annual (Wednesday) and the novice handicap chase (Thursday). At this stage, the Plate looks the favoured target, but we’ll see how things develop in the next ten days or so.
He has been in fine form at home and his work/schooling has gone very well, so fingers crossed for a smooth fortnight ahead!
