Hugely promising debut for Schone Aussicht

 In Pimlico Racing Blog

Schone Aussicht made an excellent start to her new career over hurdles with a fine fifth of 19 in what looked a very hot mares’ maiden hurdle at Naas yesterday.

Henry couldn’t have been happier with her and both he and Mike O’Connor (who gave her a very nice ride) felt there is improvement to come in the fitness department, so there is every reason to get a little excited about her prospects now!

Having finished in the first five, she now avoids the ballot in her next run, which is great news, so we can pick and choose our races with some confidence.

She ran to a Racing Post Rating of 111 yesterday, so has already shown enough to suggest she won’t be long in winning over hurdles, but there was so much promise in the performance and I am very hopeful that she can take a good step forwards in her next couple of runs.  She certainly looks outstanding value at the €8,000 purchase tag!

I’m delighted for everyone involved that she ran so well and hopefully we will all be able to enjoy another big run on her next outing.
